Did you know that you can get a lot of birthday freebies in Canada? Many restaurants and retailers are more than happy to give you free birthday stuff since it’ll likely mean loyalty and potentially increased sales.
The question is, what free stuff on your birthday is available? Well, it really depends on where you live.
I spent some good amount of time to find these deals for you around Prince George. I probably have missed some, but Im going to add to this article and publish a Birthday deals 2.O next year here so stay tuned!

KFC
KFC or Kentucky Fried Chicken has an app that allows you to enter your birthdate. It’s worth your while to do so as you’ll get a free popcorn chicken coupon that’s good for 30 days from your birthday.
Denny’s :
FREE BIRTHDAY BREAKFAST to celebrate your birthday!
Nothing starts a birthday morning off better than a free Build Your Own Grand Slam® courtesy! Says Denny’s website. Sounds good to me! Also dont forget to bring a valid picture ID because it must be presented at time of redemption. Offer is valid only on actual birthday. Cannot be combined with any other offer or promotion. Taxes and gratuity extra. Not applicable to us in OG but offer is not valid at Denny’s Niagara Falls, Dundas (Toronto), Nepean, Vaughan locations.
ALSO, when I called the Denny’s at Prince George, they also mentioned that they offer 14.39 off the bill of any meal! (and didnt mention anything about the breakfast; maybe the waitress didnt know.). Anyways its on their website; just search Birthday special Denny’s.
Moxies restaurant
All locations offer a complimentary dessert for guests celebrating their birthdays at Moxie’s. Let your server know if one of your party is celebrating a birthday! I also asked on the phone and they mentioned that for +19 you can get a free glass of champagne! (Classy)
Mr. Mikes
Hey, if you swing by MR MIKES SteakhouseCasual for your birthday, you’ll score some sweet perks! They’ve got this cool rewards program where you earn points for every dollar spent. Once you hit 100 points, you can snag 5% back as Mikebucks on your food or non-alcoholic drinks. But wait, it gets better! On your special day, they throw in a bonus reward, like 500 points (that’s 25 Mikebucks), automatically added for your next visit within 30 days. Best part? These rewards never expire. The Keg Steakhouse + Bar
The Keg offers a free dessert on your birthday with the purchase of a dinner meal. The Keg offers incredible value for a steakhouse, so the free dessert is the perfect way to end a meal. Note that you can only claim the free dessert on your actual birthday. They also offer something for anniversary but not sure what. Ask for it.
Red Robin
There are many perks involved in joining Red Robin’s “Royalty” program, including receiving every 10th item you order for free — and a free birthday burger for those celebrating in British Columbia. Also they will sing you happy birthday song apparently.
Papa John’s
Free food on your birthday is great, so make sure you make a stop at Papa John’s with your Papa Rewards app. The coupon for a free birthday cookie will show up in your app and it’s valid for 14 days.
Pizza Hut
Pizza Hut has Hut Rewards which earns your points with every purchase. The birthday freebies have usually been just free breadsticks, but no purchase was necessary, so it could be worth dropping by if you’re in the area. That said, others have received a free dessert.

Macdonald’s
At McDonald’s, you can get a free medium french fries on your birthday if you follow a few steps along the way. Those 18 and older simply need to download and sign up for the McDonald’s app. On your birthday, a coupon will be available in the “Deals” section of the app. Note that the deal is only available via mobile app orders, but you can pick them up if you walk into a McDonald’s or go through the drive-thru. Im just not sure if this offer is available in US only or in Canada too, so you might have to double check.
A & W Canada
Apparently they give a free root beer float.

So first stop is Pine centre. Your boy spent some time inpine centre hitting every single store to make sure he gets all the deals for you! (Your welcome). First stop, COBS Bread Bakery Centre

Ricki’s has women’s clothing: workwear & casualwear and on your birthday you can get 10$ off on your purchases 25$ and above.

So if you sign up in their email list, you can get 15% discount on your birthday

If you become a member by signing up on their website (which is a free membership, you can get 10$ off for any purchase (no minimum purchase).
7- Garage Clothing
By installing the app, and becoming a member, on your birthday you can get 30% off!
8- Bentley
They sell bags, backbags and luggages. On your birthday, if you become a member, you can get 10%. Also if you do your first purchase after you have became a member, you get an additional 15% off so in totall that would be 25% off.
9- Michael Hill Jewellers

The NYF Fry Society loyalty program gives you free regular fries on your birthday every year. If you preload the app with $25, you can get a free regular size poutine. This is one of the more popular free meals on your birthday.
11- Subway
On their website it says “Every year you get a birthday freebie on us” with a picture of a cookie, so I guess, a cookie it is.
12- Cobs bread bakery – Its a great bakery at Pine Centre where you can get a free cinnamon bun.

Starbucks
All Starbucks Rewards members are entitled to a free birthday drink. This can be a lucrative deal since just about any drink qualifies. That means you could order the most expensive drink you can think of and you won’t have to pay for it. As a Reward Member, you earn stars which can lead to free drinks and food.
Tim Hortons
Although not widely advertised, The Tim Hortons Rewards app gives you a birthday coupon that’s valid on your birthday only. In the past, it’s been a free beverage worth between 70 and 100 rewards points.
Dairy Queen
I know they go by DQ now, but I’m still going to call it Dairy Queen. Blizzard Fan Club (just google Join the DQ® Blizzard® Fan Club) members get a free Blizzard on their birthday when they purchase another Blizzard. This applies to any size so you could get two larges for yourself! I mean to share.
Montana’s BBQ & Bar
Make sure you sign up for the Montana’s Grill Lover’s Club to receive a free ice cream and cookie treat when you celebrate your birthday at Montana’s and you will save 10%* on a minimum spend of $30. Just make sure you have signed up for their program just a day before.
Rockford Grill
Free desert on your birthday!
Boston Pizza
Signing up for MyBP by Boston Pizza guarantees you a free dessert on your birthday. Oddly enough, that’s not even the best deal. You’ll also get a starter as soon as you sign up, an individual 2 topping pizza on your anniversary, and a bandera bread on your first delivery order all for free.
Outside of Prince George Birthday deals
The Alley
The Alley is one of my favourite bubble tea shops and has locations in Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia and Alberta. They have a branch in Vancouver. While it’s not really advertised, I got a coupon in the app for a free bubble tea that’s good up to five days after my birthday.
Cora
Cora is a popular breakfast spot with locations across the country. There are lots of branches in Vancouver. Originally, the birthday gift was $5 off your meal when you signed up for the newsletter, but the offer is no longer stated on the website. If you join the Cora loyalty program you do get 3X the points for your birthday (you get 30 days following your birthday to claim this).
IHOP
IHOP has quite a few locations in Canada including a lot in Vancouver and you can get free pancakes on your birthday when you sign up for the MyHop loyalty program. In addition, you get pancakes for free when you sign up and on every anniversary of your sign up date.
Chatime
Bubble tea lovers nationwide can enjoy a free birthday drink the week of their birthday when they sign up for Chatime Rewards. There are many branches in Vancouver.
RW and Co
Joining RW&CO.’s RWINSIDER Program is a free membership with no purchase requirement, and all you need to do is fill out a simple application form in-store or online. Once you’re in, you earn rewards based on your yearly spend on RW&CO. On top of their point system, you get a birthday discount of $15 or more, depending on your spend level.
